Let’s understand the idea.
- Try a fact you know. If it is not familiar yet, build it from equal groups or connected facts.
- Use a smaller product, five groups, or ten groups to derive another product. Multiplication can also check a division.
- Your practice is saved when you take a break. Revisit facts across different days and notice which you can recall and which still need a strategy. There is no race.
Something to notice
Ask the learner to explain a useful connection, then revisit varied facts over time without the picture. Compare recalled facts with derived facts and check related divisions in new contexts. The finite bank covers all 100 ordered products of two one-digit numbers, extends through factors ten, and includes the related exact divisions with positive divisors. Untimed correct answers, practice counts and this inventory do not establish fluent recall or mastery; educator/learner review and repeated observation remain necessary.
