Move the hands, make the time
Match a digital time by setting the hour and minute hands.

Let’s understand the idea.
- Read the hour to the left of the colon and the minutes to the right.
- Choose the hour, then choose :00 or :30. Notice how both hands move.
- Half an hour later, the minute hand makes half a turn. The hour hand moves half the distance to the next hour.
Something to notice
Ask the child to read a real analog clock and write its time. Look for confusion between the long minute hand and short hour hand, and check that half past 12 is 12:30, not 1:30.
