Your method, your division check
Find whole-number quotients and remainders with a method you can explain.

Let’s understand the idea.
- Choose a useful method: place sharing, partial quotients, a drawing or multiplication.
- Check by reconstructing dividend = divisor times quotient plus remainder.
- The quotient and remainder boxes assess those quantities; explaining a chosen method needs a separate demonstration.
Something to notice
Invite an unaided explanation before opening help. Record independently, prompted or not yet demonstrated outside the automated score; a correct number alone does not establish reasoning or fluency.
Try it. Change it. Explain it.
Open the lesson to use its pictures and controls. In How it works, connect the picture to the idea. In Play & discover, change the quantities and notice what stays the same. In Your turn, answer questions and use the explanation to check your reasoning.
You can ask for help, draw on the thinking pad, or listen to the question and answer options. Progress distinguishes independent work from work completed with help.
